This is one of those instances where a piece of fanart is cooler than the actual comic, as this Daredevil/Gambit mashup doesn’t actually exist in Marvel Comics, but definitely should. This piece of fanart is so much more interesting than that, as it not only puts Gambit in Daredevil’s suit, but actually merges the two characters together in a really fun and unique way. In this instance, Gambit had no say over the aesthetics of the costume, as he was trying to convince the world that he was Daredevil–at least, until the heist was over and done with. Deadpool dressed as Spider-Man, and Gambit dressed as Daredevil. In the comic Deadpool v Gambit by Ben Acker, Ben Blacker, and Danilo Beyruth, Gambit teams up with Deadpool to pull off a heist, and the plan is to dress as two upstanding superheroes to pull it off. Interestingly enough, as cool as this mashup is, this wouldn’t be the first time Gambit donned Daredevil’s suit. However, that didn’t stop one artist from combining them into one hero anyway, and the result is spectacular. While both men are heroes, one of them was born with that spirit of righteous, law-abiding goodness within him, while the other was not. So, Matt committed himself to his faith and to the foundation of law and order, though when evil persisted, Matt would handle it as Daredevil. The accident that followed left Matt blind, and a short time later, his father was killed by a local crime syndicate. Matt Murdock, on the other hand, was so filled with selflessness as a child, that he literally threw himself in front of a truck carrying toxic materials to save someone else from being struck. Eventually, Gambit decided to leave the life of crime behind and become a member of the superhero mutant team, the X-Men, though he never stopped being a smooth-talking charmer, as that was simply intrinsic to his entire personality (indeed, it is technically one of his mutant powers). Remy LeBeau aka Gambit was raised in the Thieves Guild, a cult-like criminal organization that trained its members to be the greatest thieves in the world from the time they’re children–and Remy was the best of them.
